China'seconomicdevelopmentistakingalong-termviewbyinvestingintechnologyandhumancapability,whichisevidentinthewaynewindustrieshaveevolved,whetheringreenenergysectorsorindustrialtransformationandadvancedmanufacturing,saidGimHuayNeo,managingdirectoroftheWorldEconomicForum(WEF).

InanexclusiveinterviewwithXinhuaaheadoftheupcoming2025SummerDavosForum,scheduledtorunfromJune24to26inNorthChina'sTianjinmunicipality,Neosaidthattheexpectedattendanceof1,800participantsattheforum,morethanhalfofwhichbeingglobalbusinesses,signifiesastronginterestinChinaaswellasAsiaasawhole.

BusinessesandinvestorsattendingtheTianjineventwillbelookingtosecurepartnershipsinadvancedmanufacturing,thetechnologysector,healthcareandotherareas,shesaid.

CommentingontheinvestmentenvironmentinChinaandAsia,Neosaidthe"ingredients"intermsofpolicycoherenceandconsistency,availabilityofhumancapital,technologyreadinessandbroadermarketsupport,are"prettystrong."

Notably,NeostatedthattheChineseeconomyhasbeenmoreresilientduringatimeofglobaleconomicuncertainty.ShesaidAsiaisexpectedtocontributeabout60percentofglobalGDPgrowththisyear,withChinatocontributearound30percent,citingprojections.

"TheoutlookforAsiaandChinaisstillprettystrong,"Neosaid,addingthattherewillbealotofinterestandfocusonChinaandAsia'spotentialduringthisyear'supcomingmeetinginTianjin."Specifically,wewillhavesessionsaroundChina'seconomicoutlook,theapproachtoAI,aswellasabroaderinnovationecosystem."

Concerningrisingglobaltradetensions,NeosaidtheWEFhasaworkinggroupfocusedontradeandinvestment,seekingtobringbusinessestogetherwithgovernments,academiaandinternationalorganizationsforconstructivedialogueandforgewin-winpartnerships.

NeosaidtheWEFhasaverylong-standingfriendshipwithChina,andthattheforumhopestocontinueworkingwiththeChinesegovernment,ChinesebusinessesandChinesepeopletobridgeconversationsbetweenChina,Asiaandtherestoftheworld.

Thisyear'sSummerDavosForum,alsoknownasthe16thAnnualMeetingofNewChampionsoftheWorldEconomicForum,isthemed"EntrepreneurshipintheNewEra"andwillfocusonfivekeyareas--decipheringtheworldeconomy,outlookonChina,industriesdisrupted,investinginpeopleandtheplanet,andnewenergyandmaterials.
